在颈部，胸锁乳突肌前缘，结喉旁约3寸处。

On the neck, anterior to the sternocleidomastoid muscle, approximately 3 cun lateral to the laryngeal prominence.
找穴方法
正坐或站立，
找到喉结（结喉），
向外侧量约3寸，
触及胸锁乳突肌前缘凹陷处。

Locate the Adam’s apple，
Move laterally about 3 cun，
Palpate the anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle

针刺手法

扶突穴最早出现在中医典籍《灵枢·本输》中，《灵枢·寒热病》《针灸大成》《针灸甲乙经》等古书也记载了这个穴位。
《灵枢·本输》记载：“在锁骨上窝中间的是任脉的天突穴。天突穴往外第一寸是足阳明胃经的人迎穴，再往外第二寸就是手阳明大肠经的扶突穴”——这里通过位置关系描述了扶突穴的定位。
《灵枢·寒热病》提到：“突然说不出话、呼吸困难时，可以针刺扶突穴和舌根部位放血治疗”。这里记录了急性失声和窒息的急救方法。
《针灸甲乙经》记载该穴主治：“咳嗽气喘、咽喉肿痛导致声音沙哑或发出怪声”。主要指呼吸道疾病引发的异常表现。
《针灸大成》补充说明：“咳嗽痰多、气喘时喉咙发出类似青蛙叫的哮鸣声”。详细描述了严重哮喘时的典型症状。
